It's been a crazy week for me and my visiting cousin from PA. It all started last week on our Sunday ride where he snapped a spindle on his Look pedals on Lagoon Drive. After several miles on one leg drills we made it back to Hickam AFB and Steve Steele let us borrow a pedal. Before the start of Weds. ride, he slipped on some steps and broke his toe (3rd one). We said all this bad stuff gotta come to an end! Well today it did...
On our normal Saturday North Shore ride he broke my frame on my favorite bike! Specialized S-Works E5 Festina Team Edition. It broke on the weld seam on the right side chain stays. We called my Uncle to rescue us at Mokuleia. Steve felt bad but I told him that it's not a problem and I am just glad it did not snap while we were hauling ass down Snake Road at 45mph. Dropped off old faithful at the Bike Shop in town and they will look into a warranty issue. Oh well, this bike has been awesome and never sold because of its responsiveness, handling, and weight. But nothing last forever right?

Crazy! Glad your cousing survived the 3 tests with only a broken pedal, toe and frame! OUCH!
ReplyDeleteDang that is a nasty break, I hope everything works out warranty wise.
