BROKEN OR NOT BROKEN? BUILD A LITESPEED

Yes it's another titanium bike in my house! But unfortunately it belongs to Casey Tucker. Yesterday he finally got all his parts so I started assembly on it for him. I don't want to
tell him it's complete until after the FAST Tuesday lunch ride. I need every advantage for him not to gain any more speed. At least I can buy one more day. As assembly began, he pulled out two Park Tools pint glasses and a bottle opener. He said it was for the help on the bicycle. That was a nice gesture and I will put them to good use. Now if I can find a SMSGT that will fill them up for me...

Got a call from the bike shop about my broken wheel. They said that they thought it was busted but after an inspection they were able to fix everything except the flat spot. Good news is that It's a perfect for training. Bad news is I just forked out several hundred dollars on a new wheel. Oh well!

I have been so proud that its been almost 3 weeks since I last broke something. Well, until this morning that is. I was rinsing out my coffee press half asleep and decided to have a front end collision with the faucet. Pop! Auuughhh! I was not able to take any holiday leave since 3/4 of my office beat me to it. I decided to take some now and plan to train the next 2 weeks. I have a bicycle trip planned with several of my team mates to cycle up Haleakala next week. A 10,034 foot volcano with an avg. grade of 9% for 36 miles. The steepest section is at the end at 19%. Last year I was only able to get to 8,700 feet. I am ready this year...

  1. Hmmm, a SMSgt to fill you glass. Bring it over when you pick up the mower and I will give you some fine Hawaiian tap water. Free of charge.
