I decided to take some time off from work and have an overload week of biking. This week I have ridden everyday for a minimum of 2 hours, over 5,000 feet of climbing and time trial practice. Yesterday I felt the effects of the overload. Steve and some other HACCer's were on riding constraints so I joined them at Tantalus. I felt ok on the first climb and rode it tempo. As we all got to the top we started our descent then heavens opened up and poured rain for about 15 mins. Many of us took shelter under trees. I was completely soaked! The rain stopped and the wind kicked up. It made the descent colder than normal. I tried climbing the second loop but lost motivation. I told Casey that I was packing it in, I hate cycling in wet socks! I think my highlight was grabbing coffee at Starbucks. Got home and took anther 2 hours to clean the grime and dirt off the Litespeed.

This Sunday morning I woke up and debated 3 times if I should ride this morning. I forced myself out the door only to be greeted by one rider Greg. Hmmmm, where's IT3 at? Someone sent out an email that he was riding...We decided to stay local and do 3 loops on Hickam. After the first loop, I was feeling like yesterday and tried to ride. The second loop felt even worse so I again packed it in. After reviewing my weekly log and stats the overload did what its intended to do. I will take tomorrow completely off from riding and just rest. Tuesday will be our normal HAMMERFEST to start one more week of overload.
