DRIP DRIP DRIP

Last night I went to help a friend with his bicycle wheels. I arrived back home at 1800 and noticed a wet spot on the floor. I thought to myself, Maya relieved herself at the back door of kitchen. I cleaned it up and went to watch TV. 20 mins later I heard water dripping and thought it was the sink faucet. I go to investigate and see water dripping from the threshold of the door. NOT GOOD! I immeadeatly call Housing Maintanence and they tell me it may be an hour to the help arrives. So now I have towels and trash can catching water.
When the maint. guy arrives at 2000 and starts his investigation I tell myself "this guy hasn't a clue" on the situation. He starts in the kitchen and starts cutting away at the drywall ceiling above the sink. No pipes are located. He then proceeds to punch holes above the threshold and opens a good size hole. What he see's is a support beam and no pipes. He then wants to go upstairs and opens the access door in the linen closest. I remove the contents to the closet he looks in and NOTHING!

At this point I am starting to get a bit fustrated and tell the guy "would n't you want to shut off the hot water valve so we can stopflooding out the kitchen". He replies with "If we do that we will shut off hot water to the whole bldg". I respond with isn't controling the flooding or securing the source a priority? Eventuall he secures the water. He then tells me I'll be back, I look at the clock and it's 2330. This is going to be a long night...
He returns after midnight and starts punching holes into the concrete ceiling of the wash room. I look at the light fixture and tell him that water is starting to fill up the glass bowl of the light. He say's "we can empty it when we are done" What an idiot I tell myself! At 0200 he finally punches thru the concrete and locates the leak. It's a small pinhole leak and he places a temporary patch on the pipe. I ask him temporary? He say's this should hold for a while. After cleaning up I glance at the clock and it's almost 0500. I decided to make some coffee and just stay up for the day. I think it was easier to ride 80 miles instead!
