RUN FOREST RUN - WHERE'S DORA

What a great week of training it has been! It all started on the 4th of July with a 12 mile run. This is the 3rd week where I have incorporated a long weekly run into my training schedule. Casey joined me as we did a 6 mile out and back to the control tower on Hickam. I was fairly pleased with the run as I managed negative splits for the first 9 miles. Later that night we were treated at the Soots for great food. drinks and spirits! Thanks for the hospitality as the night ended with fireworks. Dev and Jeff decided to take a rest day since riding 120 miles the day prior.

Saturday morning I hooked up with Dev and climb the Leeward coast. The climb included Royal Summit, Kaaumanu, Aiea Hts. Drive, Camp Smith then a loop around AMR. I rode my new Specialized Roubaix Pro (15.2 lbs) complete with pedals. I must say that I noticed a substantial difference in the climbs. After the ride we took a boys day out trip to the Bike Shop in Aiea. I went to pay this month's shop rent on my new assault weapon... Speacialized Transition!

On Sunday we scheduled a Brick Workout. It consists of a bike run. We had some good tempo riding thrown in with some sprints to the speed limit signs. I think I got 4, Casey got 2, and Dev got 1. Jeff decided to keep his Dora pillow warm and skipped the workout. We completed the bike and threw on our running shoes. We met Dev on Fox and Porter and started out our 4.8 mile run. Again, I felt pretty good and was clicking off 6:50's per mile. I wanted to see what my 5k time would be before backing off. I was VERY pleased with the outcome. The training seems to be right on track.
After the workout I was craving for some seared Ahi Katsu! I drove to Jurisons in Waikele to get some!

We decided that the guy who skips the group workouts would receive the Dora sip pee cup award! I found these at K-Mart and was presented to Jeff at the Dora Ceremony this weekend! This week Jeff Soots dons the pink and orange cups!
