This has been a really busy weekend so far and it's only Saturday! It all started when Dev messaged me that he was at the Bike Shop on Friday morning. He asked what I thought about the new Specialized SL2's... One word "Incredible". Next thing I hear is I picked up some Sram Red too! I left work half day and went to grab lunch at Bravo's before heading to the Bike Shop to pick up my new Specialized Transition. With Bike in hand and an additional Bike Shop Anniversary Discount, I headed home. Dropped Dev off and 20 mins later I was elbow deep in Sram Red Assembly on a new frame. We got done about 8pm and I still had to cook dinner. Warmed up leftovers and had to get stuff ready for the Hickam Half Marathon in the morning.
Buzzzzz, alarm clock goes off at 0315, get up, take the dog out to peep and poop, gather clothes, fill up fuel belt, have an FRS, throw Nite Rider on bike and head to Jeff's house. We walk over to the start but took a wrong turn and ended up doing a cross country excursion on the way to the start. We get to the start and see Scott Kimsey and Brian Whitehouse. The gun goes off and we are screaming faster then we said we would. The half was great and I finished under 1:45:00 mins and 8th in my age group (40-49). Its been over 10 years since my last half and felt really good on the run. Got home, jumped on the scale, 157.5lbs! Yeah baby!
Took a shower, headed to The Bike Shop on King Street then to Momentum Multisport, got back home, stripped off all the Shimano 105 components on the new Transition, worked on Dev's Bike and now, I can relax. Oh, it's dinner time! Meeting up with the boys for a 50 mile ride in the morning. Just a slack 2 days!
