A WEEK OF RED...
It has been a week of RED! It all started last Saturday at the Hickam Half Marathon. Racing in the upper heart rate zone of my max heart rate. Boy was I hurting on Sunday! The night prior to the half marathon, Dev stopped by with a box full of SRAM RED to install on his new Tarmac SL2. I must say, this stuff ROCKS! I decided to join Brandon and Dev for a Sunday morning ride. This turned into a back to back hard effort day! After a warm up lap to the tower I decided to pour on the heat and rode at race pace for another lap. I rode so hard that I was chumming the Hickam Air Force Base with oatmeal and coffee... I felt great for running a half marathon the day prior. Then on Monday I joined up with the owner of a brand new SL2 with Sram Red for a afternoon ride. Again, this turned into a hammerfest with speeds reaching 36mph. Once again in the RED ZONE.Then on Tuesday is our weekly hammerfest at lunch. But on this particular day I could not respond to the attacks. My legs had no zap and I had to back off and ride further back in the group. I told myself no more RED this week. On Wednesday I decided to get a massage at the massage school in Aiea. Not a bad deal, $25.00 for 55 mins. I'm so there! After 5 days off seeing RED I joined Jeff S. for a 5 mile recovery run. We both agreed to run easy and no RED ZONE stuff thru the run. I did well and finished with a avg heart rate of 130bpm. Wheeew NO RED!
As I get t work I am having coffee in my RED coffee cup (I did not plan this) and start glancing thru a RED bike catalog from Mauricio. They had some cool stuff in this catalog and I told myself just window shop. I start reflecting back to the week and all the RED that went on. It might be a sign from heaven so I bite the bullet and ordered me a SRAM RED Group for my new frame...NO MORE RED?

How many years have you ran Campy? I'm sure you will enjoy the latest and greatest
