This morning we rode out and did our 45 mile Saturday ride to Barbers Point. Today Jonathan Ching joined us as we are team mates for 2009. Dev and I left Hickam at 0703, I was late, first time ever...
Dev actually arrived before anyone else. We headed out on Kam Hwy and I felt really good this morning. Probably the best I've felt in a month or so. After being down with food poison and 2 days of recovery riding things were going well.
HEART RATE
ZONE 1 3:04
ZONE 2 38:20
ZONE 3 39:33
ZONE 4 41:00
ZONE 5 36:27
I was able to spend an avg of 38 mins in each zone and finished the ride with an avg heart rate of 142bpm. Seems like my training program is right on track for the upcoming TT season.

We met Jonathan in Pearl City and I think Dev picked up the pace first. I followed and up the anti heading into Waipahu. We met Shane on Farrington Hwy and headed out to Barbers in Time Trial mode. We made it out to Kapolei in right at 40 mins, that's with catching almost every light in Waipahu. We got to Barbers and refilled water and headed out back down Farrington towards Waipahu. It felt like the time trial mode heading out but into the wind. Overall I noticed an improved speed and lower heart rate. I normally don't post my data but what the heck.
Next weekend we will be riding the same course but will add an additional 15-20 miles by heading to Ewa Beach (Puuloa - Old Geiger Road) into the workout. Looks like rain is scheduled tomorrow so it may be a gym day followed by coffee at Starbucks!
Thanks to Shane, Dev and Jonathan for making it a safe and fun training ride!
Shane looks a bit tired?
Ben, it was all that marathon training that made you better. Dev looks like he may have pulled a 'small Lance' move. Did you push him down??? Lance A
